UNC Chaguanas West candidate: TT’s fathers must take their role
DINESH RAMBALLY, UNC candidate for Chaguanas West in the upcoming general election, saluted the nation’s fathers whom he urged to step forward to advocate for their children.
On Sunday in a statement he expressed gratitude on his selection in a batch of five candidates named the day before by UNC leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
“It is opportune that today we celebrate Father's Day and I meander a bit to wish all fathers a fulfilling and memorable day.”
He said as a father himself, he lamented the nation was being ravaged by the egregious deeds of criminals.
“If left unchecked, incompetently handled or stubbornly ignored, as the PNM is presently doing, the very fabric of our society will be completely destroyed.
“Fathers are therefore required to take their rightful position in our social polity to discharge their first and foremost duty of defending their children's interests.” He viewed the UNC as the only vehicle that is competent and committed to steer TT back onto the right path for the benefit of our families and children.
“If we are to ensure that we save our twin-island republic, we are duty-bound to support the UNC.
“On the other hand, the PNM has been conjuring up cheap parlour tricks, unable to provide any significant benefit to our nation. It seems that it has an inherent disinclination to tell the direct truth and is quite content to enrich itself by trading on the sentimental emotions of the poor and the downtrodden.”
He said he looked forward to debating such issues with PNM prospective candidate Rackeal Bissoon.
Rambally hailed the UNC.
“It is to us all that is to man most dear, most high and most sacred; a proud banner in the battle for liberty, equality, decent standard of living and a holy shrine of concord where all races find an equal place and meet and mingle at their random will.”
He said to be an MP is a privilege and a great calling with huge responsibilities.
“I am personally of the view that service to man is service to God.
“I therefore wish to first pay obeisance to Bhagwan, the Divine Supreme Godhead, for granting me the opportunity to vie for the position of Member of Parliament.” He then expressed his gratitude to Persad-Bissessar SC and the UNC executive for creating this opportunity for me to serve.
He saluted outgoing MP Chaguanas West, Ganga Singh, saying, “His work has not gone unnoticed.”
