Monarchs on frontline

REIGNING Calypso Monarch Helon Francis and former calypso monarch Kurt Allen both made a smooth transition into the frontline of Brass 2 The World and had patrons dancing on New Year’s Night at the TUCO’s Start the Carnival fete.

Allen’s experience as a lead singer was clearly visible as he performed alongside Francis, Snakey, Russell Cadogan and Keisha Stewart.

The band’s management must be careful with this five man/woman frontline as it could be very cumbersome as seen on the small stage at the Queen’s Park Savannah.

It was obvious that there were microphone problems as singers had to be exchanging microphones during their performances.

It would be best if the band use three singers on stage and alternately introduce the other two during the performances.
