Inara defeats Abigail in sisters battle

Inara defeated Abigail in a battle of the Chin Lee sisters, when the semi-finals of the girls Under-10 singles category took place at the Subway Junior Tennis Tournament 2017 at the Trinidad Country Club in Maraval, yesterday.

Inara, the older sister, won the first set 4-1 before Abigail levelled the match by winning the second set 5-3. In the final set, Inara was the stronger player and prevailed with a 10-6 win to progress to the finals. In the other girls Under-10 semi-final Madeleine D’Arcy got past Eva Pasea 3-5, 4-2, 10-6.

In the boys Under-10 semi-finals, Isaiah Boxill outlasted Ross Wortman 4-1, 4-1 and Callum Koylass was victorious with a 4-2, 5-3 win over Logan Hamel-Smith.

In the girls Under-16 singles semi-finals, Yin Lee Assang and Victoria Koylass both advanced to the final. Lee Assang defeated Kelsey Leitch 6-2, 6-4, while Koylass got past Solange Skeene 7-6, 6-2.

In the boys Under-18 semi-finals, Aidan Carter eased his way to a 6-2, 6-0 win over Liam Sheppard, while Ramkissoon was also a comfortable winner, getting past Jaydon Alexis 6-2, 6-2.
