Guyana President congratulates Trump
GUYANA President Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali issued congratulations to new US President Donald Trump after his inauguration for a second term on January 20.
"Congratulations to President Donald J Trump on your inauguration as the 47th President of the United States of America.
"As you begin a new chapter of your leadership and service, I extend best wishes on this great responsibility."
Ali said the Government of Guyana looked forward to working closely with Trump and his administration to forge stronger ties between the two nations in the years ahead.
Newsday sought a comment on Trump's inauguration from the Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Amery Browne, and Communications Minister Symon de Nobriga but had not got any replies up to press time.
