Venezuelan DJ completes successful tour in Trinidad and Tobago
Venezuelan DJ Deiner Guzman recently ended a successful tour in Trinidad and Tobago, where he did nine shows and recorded a video to promote tourism and the arrival of other Latino artists.
The tour was organised by (Lysmar Armas) Princess Lys Production. The shows took place from December 13-25 at various clubs.
“It has been a very nice tour," Guzman told Newsday after finishing his last show at the Cornerstone Bar, San Juan. "The public received me with a lot of affection, not only Latinos, but also many locals who like salsa.”
He also performed at the Lazy Lizard, Esco Bar and Mystique Chaguanas; Magic City, Cunupia; Boozy and Badoo, San Fernando; and Player 1 in Barataria.
Guzman, 22, has a musical heritage from his parents, who taught him Latino musical rhythms since he was a child. He specialises in salsa music. “Salsa is a musical style originally from Cuba, but it has spread over the years to all Latino countries and in TT there are many followers. When they made the proposal, I did not hesitate to accept it. I saw other Venezuelan artists were well received here and that is why I decided to come.”
He also visited several Latin American countries and closed his 2024 tour in Colombia with a performance on December 27.
“There are many plans for 2025. We have been invited to several countries, and among them, returning to TT is on the agenda. We would definitely like to return and visit other places bringing Latino music.”
Guzman recorded a video clip on Maracas beach for his YouTube channel to highlight TT culture.
“I didn't want to leave TT without showing the world how beautiful this country is, and there's nothing better than doing it on Maracas Beach, which is a tourist site par excellence.
"Our idea in each country we visit is to show a little of its culture to the world.”
Princess Lys, the producer in charge of Guzmán's tour in TT, said she was pleasantly surprised by the public's acceptance.
“The goal is to bring good artists to TT, recognised not only in Venezuela but in other countries, so that the local public can enjoy their talents.”
She said she has several surprises planned for 2025 and thanked Guzmán for agreeing to come to TT.
