NFM director resigns, AGM date announced

One of the directors of National Flour Mills (NFM), Sangjiv Anant Sookoo, has tendered his resignation from the company.
NFM made the announcement in a notice posted on the TT Stock Exchange’s website on September 11. NFM said his resignation will take effect on September 26.
Sookoo was appointed last year, along with Varun Maharaj and reappointed director Joanne Salazar.
Last year, chairman Nigel Romano expressed high hopes for the new additions, saying that Maharaj and Sookoo were both lawyers who could bring a different perspective to the company.
In a separate release, NFM announced that its 51st annual shareholder meeting will be held on September 27 at the Trinidad Hilton.
NFM reported a profit after tax of $20.5 million for the first half of 2024, ending on June 30.
In its unaudited financial results, NFM said the profits represented a 29 per cent increase over the same period in 2023.
