Shooting in Scarborough sends crowd scattering

POLICE are investigating a shooting incident in Scarborough, Tobago, on July 19.

Officers said around 8.30 pm, officers assigned to the CID responded to a report of a shooting near a KFC outlet.

On arriving at the old First Citizens Bank car park, they were told several gunshots were heard around 8.20 pm.

Police said two masked men with guns – one of whom stood at the KFC drive-through area and the other in the bank's carpark – shot at a group of men who were under a tent along Carrington Street, near the carpark.

People ran for safety and the gunmen got into a waiting vehicle and escaped.

No injuries were reported.

Investigations are continuing.
