Cops seek information on murdered man

POLICE are seeking further information about a man only identified as Malique Matthews, who was found dead in his car early in the morning on June 18.

Police reports said at about 2.30 am on June 18, officers of the Tunapuna and St Joseph CID responded to reports of gunshots near Carib Brewery on the Eastern Main Road, St Joseph.

When they got there they found a Nissan Tiida parked on the side of the road facing east.

Officers found Matthews slumped over behind the steering wheel. He had been shot several times.

Police have not yet been able to find an address and an age for the dead man.

Police later found out that around the time of the gunshots, two men were seen running west along Eastern Main Road and then north on to Industry Lane, Mt Hope.
