There’s a cool camp for aspiring digital creators this July/August vacation – Digikids Tech Incubator. The upcoming Digikids vacation camp is a free, hybrid technology camp that will cater to 1000 students during the school vacation. The camp aims to empower youth between the ages of 11 and 14 and will consist of ten virtual training sessions, three webinars and five face-to-face sessions at ten RSC tech club centres across Trinidad. Online registration opened on July 17.

A media release said The Digicel Foundation has partnered with the non-profit organisation Restore a Sense of I Can (RSC) to host the technology camp in Trinidad and Tobago from July to September. RSC is a non-profit organisation dedicated to social development through education, and one of its ongoing projects is the establishment and support of technology clubs in schools throughout the Caribbean.

The camp will cover topics such as Stream simulations, coding, mobile application development, cyber security, artificial intelligence, web development, audio editing and video editing. The in-person sessions will offer hands-on exposure to various engaging activities including robotics, snap circuits, augmented reality, video production and drones IoT, the release said.

Digicel Business has invested $120,000 into the camp, which will be used to purchase training kits that include mini drones, coding interface tabs, Arduino starter kits, Arduino sensor kits, snap circuits and robot master coding kits.
