ST LUCIA Kings registered their first win of the 2022 Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL), by a two-wicket margin over Jamaica Tallawahs on Tuesday night at the Darren Sammy Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia.

The Kings, chasing a target of 164, reached 164 for the loss of eight wickets, with one ball to spare from left-arm pacer Raymon Reifer.

Man of the Match Johnson Charles, who has a stand at the ground named after him, smashed 62 off 39 balls, and he received support from middle-order batsmen Roshon Primus (22) and Singapore-born Australian Tim David (20).

Reifer finished with two wickets for 28 runs while fellow left-arm bowlers, the Pakistan pair of fast bowler Mohammad Amir and spinner Imad Wasim, took 3/25 and 2/15 respectively.

The Tallawahs, who were put in to bat first, reached 163/8 courtesy of Reifer's 62 and Wasim's 20. New Zealand fast bowler Scott Kuggeleijn claimed 3/44 and South African-born Namibian pacer David Wiese had 2/31.
