Endless Treasures at Naparima Bowl
The Naparima Bowl celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, having been formally opened to the public on August 27, 1962 just four days before TT gained Independence from Britain.
A media release said Endless Treasures will be Naparima Bowl’s signal event in a year-long celebration of 60 years as the cultural soul of the south. The event will include recognition of founding creatives who have solidified the identity of Naparima Bowl in the national cultural landscape, including a lifetime achievement award to William Chen, prolific artist, writer, designer and long standing board member.
The event will feature performances by the Susan Mohip Dance Company, storyteller Dellon Mathison, College Boy Jesse, Joshua Regrello, Freetown Collective and a performance by Pan Elders Youth Steel Orchestra.
Guests will be welcomed by the Claxton Bay Tamboo Bamboo set against the backdrop of the Bowl Face cafeteria and the Ralph Baney fountain, the release said.
In keeping with Naparima Bowl’s philosophy of collaboration and strategic partnerships, the Jubilee Festival Weekend will include a variety of productions:
