Wanted Paramin man killed by police

A Paramin man wanted by police has been killed in what police say was an exchange of gunfire.
In the end, Ralphie Roper, 41, was declared dead at the Port of Spain General Hospital just before 8 am.
Police said they confronted Roper around 7 am at Cameron Hill, Maraval, and he fired at them, so they fired back.
The injured Roper was put in the tray of a police van and taken to hospital, where he was declared dead.
Police said Roper was wanted on several outstanding warrants, including weapons possession, and was known to them for shooting at police. He was also a suspect in drug-related offences in the Maraval and Maracas areas.
