FOUR more repatriation flights are expected to arrive in Trinidad and Tobago in the month of March.

Medical officer in charge of health institutions Dr Maryam Abdool-Richards announced this at the Health Ministry's virtual press conference on Wednesday morning.

She said the most recent return flight, which came from Barbados, was on Saturday and brought 121 nationals.

On Thursday, around 130 nationals will return from New York.

In addition to this, a flight from Guyana will arrive on March 24, another from Barbados on March 27, and one from Miami, Florida on March 31.

Abdool-Richards said, “I’d like to reiterate to the population that the priority would be to bring back as many nationals (as possible), but in a safe and controlled manner to reduce the risk of covid19.

“Thus far, all repatriation exercises that have been carried out have been successful, in that no person has been turned away with respect to their admission and entry to TT.”
