CHE Andrews was crowned Men’s Singles champion of the inaugural Duke’s Tennis Academy three-day Tennis Tournament which served off at Sevilla Tennis Club in Brechin Castle, Couva, on Friday.

In the final, which was contested via a one pro set format, Andrews prevailed 8-3 over Kino Francis to claim top honours.

In the women’s equivalent, Farrah Chautilal captured the division’s top prize by getting past Andrea Douglas 8-2.

Additionally, Prakash Ragbir lifted the first-ever Men’s Veteran Singles title when he bettered Randy Bailey 8-3

After over eight months of inactivity at the south sport facility, event organisers found that players were eager to return to competitive action and opted to host the first-time tourney to give players an opportunity to relax and reset.
