The Rotary Club of Maraval donated 82 tablets to five primary schools in Maraval and Rampanalgas on Friday.

The donation was a collaborative effort of the PeopleBridge Foundation, a grant received from Rotary district 7030 and long-standing Rotary Club member Susan Hale and family.

The donations were also assisted by Fairway Freight Consolidators, Caribbean Airlines Cargo and Ramp Logistics.

A media release said the devices were received by the principals of each of the five schools: Our Lady of Assumption Boissiere RC, La Seiva RC, Maraval RC, Paramin RC and Rampanalgas RC.

Principal of Paramin RC Camillius Olivier thanked the club for its assistance. He said, “These devices will go a long way in bringing much needed assistance to those students who did not have these resources available to them.”

President of the Rotary Club Giselle Holder said, “It remains the priority of the club to continue deepening our relationships with the five schools assisted and also with those in need in our community.”

The release said the club also recently donated feminine hygiene products to the Women’s Prison, stationery supplies to primary schools and the Cascade/St Ann’s Life Centre and continues to donate to the St Andrew’s Home for the elderly in Belmont.

The club also gives food hampers to the families and students at the Cascade/St Ann’s Life Centre and recently upgraded its kitchen, which is used for cooking classes led by volunteers of the club.
