Less than an hour after the police called on the public to help find a 52-year-old Gasparillo beauty salon owner on Monday, she responded.

"I am not missing. It was a misunderstanding.

"My relatives and clients are calling my phone to find out it is true. I am with my husband and children right now," Sandra Bissoon told Newsday.

Bissoon is the owner of Sandra's Smiles and Styles Hair Salon at Harmony Hall in Gasparillo.

A male relative reported her missing to Gasparillo police over the weekend. He told police she was last seen on Friday.

Bissoon, accompanied by a male relative, later went to the Gasparillo police station to tell officers that she was safe.

As she was leaving, Bissoon assured that she was okay. She declined to comment further.
