Man, 59, charged for offering girl $40 for nude photos
A 59-year-old man who allegedly offered a girl $40 in exchange for nude photos of herself has been charged with two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
He was expected to face a Point Fortin magistrate on Wednesday, according to a police media release.
Police said on January 28 as well as on a date unknown this month, the accused offered the 17-year-old victim $40 for her to supply him with the photos. He is also reported to have asked her to have sexual intercourse with him. She refused.
The release on Wednesday said Supt George and ASP Sookdeo of the South Western Division Child Protection Unit (CPU) headed the investigations into the report that the minor was sexually engaged by a male relative. Insp Roberts supervised it and WPC Myers laid the charges on Tuesday.
This latest case brings to a total of 84 the suspects charged in 2020 for crimes against children under the Children’s Act, the release said.
