Morvant man charged for drug trafficking

A 45-year-old Morvant man is expected to appear before a Port of Spain magistrate on Thursday charged with drug trafficking after being found with a quantity of marijuana while six marijuana plants were found at his home on Wednesday afternoon.

Police said members of the Port of Spain Task Force were on patrol at the Brian Lara Promenade, at around 3 pm, when they saw the man acting in a suspicious manner. He was searched by the officers who found 45 grammes of compressed marijuana.

Police then went to his home where they found the marijuana plants. The man was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
