The 42 TT nationals hoping to return on Friday will be quarantined at the UWI Penal/Debe campus.

This was announced by Dr Maryam Richards, principal medical officer, institutions, at the Health Ministry press conference on Wednesday.

“That facility can house up to 72 persons in individual rooms," she said. "I visited the facility yesterday and all was in place to ensure the Trinidadians that are returning will be comfortable and would receive the appropriate level of care."

She said she is unsure if they will be tested in Suriname but assured they will be upon their return to TT.

“We’ve actually set up a swab team with primary care physicians from the South-West Regional Health Authority (SWRHA) and we’ve already identified and located swabs.”
