Sagicor officially unveiled the region’s first active adult wellness and lifestyle community, The Estates at St George, its US$85 million investment in Barbados, on May 2, at The Ballroom, Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, the company said in a statement.

Guests were welcomed by Robert Trestrail, executive vice president and general manager of Sagicor Life Inc, TT operations, and managing director of Terra Caribbean, Jean-Paul de Meillac. Over 75 guests perused an artist’s renditions of this unique active adult community, the first of its kind in the Caribbean to offer residents the opportunity to transition accommodations as they age.

Trestrail said, “This is an exciting new development that offers (TT) seniors the opportunity to invest in The Estates at St George and to retire if they wish in this new and visionary Sagicor project in Barbados”.

The Estates will offer residents the opportunity to enjoy as much or as little activity as they wish, secure in the knowledge that there is a continuum of care available to them. This project, with manned security at the gated entrance, also boasts a wellness centre with a gym, holistic spa, medical centre and coffee shop, a clubhouse featuring a restaurant and pub, as well as tennis, pools and walking trails, all located on 19 acres in scenic Barbados.
