Judiciary workers pray in front of the Hall of Justice in Port of Spain, yesterday.

Judiciary workers across the country yesterday continued to pray for 15 minutes every hour for God’s intervention to save their jobs.

A small group of workers yesterday gathered in front of the Hall of Justice in Port of Spain although Public Services Association (PSA) president Watson Duke was not there. Newsday was told Duke was in Tobago. Approximately 25 workers who had gathered at the side of Hall of Justice, on Knox Street, grasped each other’s hands while they prayed. Duke has encouraged them to pray in this way, telling them never to underestimate the power of prayer. The workers are taking a stand against restructuring plans for the judiciary, which they say will result in their being fired and contract workers taking their positions.
