What will UN say?

THE EDITOR: For those of us previously unable to comprehend the enormity of the Venezuelan political problems, the pictures of the millions of desperate people on television will explain why TT could not extend an open invitation for millions of refugees to just come and live in TT. I thought there were 26 million Venezuelans only to hear the figure 32 million Venezuelans being banded about on international networks.

One million hungry suffering people turning up on our shores will mean one million TT citizens being snowed under. There must be an agreed cut off number for how many can holistically help. Our sitting Opposition allegedly appears unaware that there is much more at stake than scoring political points. Talk has never been as cheap in TT as of today. We wait to see what the United Nations has to say about mediation.
