Rio Claro man killed while crossing highway

A 21-year-old Rio Claro man became the country’s seventh road fatality for the year when he was struck by a WASA van while crossing from South to North on the Churchill Roosevelt Highway near PriceSmart, Mausica, around 3.56 am today.

The dead man was identified as Keston John.

Eyewitnesses told police they saw John making a frantic dash across the road from South to North when he was struck by the van.

John died on impact.

The body was viewed by a doctor and taken to the mortuary
