Police check Customs documents in ganja probe
Investigators from the Organised Crime and Intelligence Unit (OCIU) are going through Customs and Excise documents as part of their probe into the find of over $6 million in ganja at the Caribbean Bottlers Co Ltd (Coca-Cola) factory last Friday.
Police have determined the container with the drugs was not scanned at the port in Port of Spain, but a certificate of clearance was obtained for the container to be examined on-site at the factory.
It could not be discovered why the container was not scanned, leading police to believe there may be a link between the drugs and port workers.
