Port retiree held with 10 packs of marijuana
A 65-year-old retired employee of the Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (PATT) was last Thursday held with 10 packs of marijuana weighting 5.7 kilos as he was driving a vehicle off the ferry.
Newsday Tobago understands that around 8pm on Thursday evening, officers of the Tobago Divisional Task Force and Criminal Investigations Department (CID), under the supervision of Sgt George, conducted an anti-drug exercise at the Scarborough port, paying particular attention to vehicles disembarking the ferry.
Officers had cause to stop and search a vehicle driven by the retiree where they found the illegal drugs.
The man was arrested and taken to the Scarborough Police Station and is expected to appear in court to answer charges of possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
