Chinese national murdered

MING Yang, a 49-year-old Chinese man of Antigua Road, Wallerfield was shot dead as he drove to his home around 10.30 pm on Saturday.

According to reports, Ming was driving along Antigua Road when he was ordered out of his vehicle by two men, one armed with a gun. Yang refused and shouted in Chinese at the men. Residents later heard a man shout out, "lie on the ground" and then two shots rang out.

A report was made to the police and officer who visited the scene found Ming, who was a labourer, dead on the road. The body was ordered removed to the Forensic Science Centre in St James for an autopsy. Police said Mind was originally from China and arrived in Trinidad to work in construction. No motive was established for his killing and no arrest has been made.
