Keep it secret
THE EDITOR: Over the weekend a Hindu temple was robbed and bandits got away with $160,000 in cash and jewelry.
A Chinese supermarket in Warrenville was also robbed at gunpoint and a safe with $100,000 taken, along with valuables from the proprietor and the two employees present. These details were splashed in the newspapers.
Can’t there be a law banning the amount of money taken in robberies being made public? Can “undisclosed amount of cash and valuables” not be used instead?
We have to try to reduce the frightening escalating crime statistics in every possible way.
