Tobago clubs shine at Maximising Athletics invitational

ALL three Tobago athletic clubs including, Kaizen Panthers, Pentecostal Light and Life and Mason Hall Police Youth Club, which competed at the Maximising Athletic Potential invitational athletic meet, held at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella, on April 22, came away with medals.

Pentecostal Light and Life was the only club to earn a gold medal as Ryan Campbell won the boys Under-17, 800 metres in a time of 2 minutes 5.88 seconds, his teammate Nkosi Toney took the bronze medal in 2 minutes 9.17 seconds.

Joel Zachary, also of Pentecostal Light and Life, won the silver medal in the boys under-17, 100 metres clocking a time of 11.40 seconds. Jaabir Taylor of Kaizen Panthers secured the bronze medal in the said event in 11.41 seconds.

Shonnel Chance from Kaizen Panthers won a silver medal in the boys under-20, 800 metres in a time of 1 minute 59.91 seconds. Ako Hislop time of 10.70 seconds in the boys under-20, 100 metres was good enough for second place. Darren Alfred recorded a time of 47.40 seconds for a silver medal in the men 400 metres and Jedial Walters won a bronze medal in the men 1,500 metres race.
