Shooting leaves Malabar man dead
POLICE are investigating the murder of a 31-year-old man, who was shot dead in Malabar yesterday.
He has been identified as Ryan Vialva of Trainline Road, Malabar.
Sources told Newsday Vialva was standing at the corner of Jean Street Extension and Highley Avenue when an unknown man wearing a white cap parked a white Nissan AD wagon on Trainline Road and approached him.
The men spoke for a moment, then Vialva bent over to pick up something.
The man in the white cap used this as an opportunity to pull a gun and shoot him several times in the head, chest and back. The man then got into his car and drove off.
Vialva was taken to the Arima Health Facility, where he died. Newsday was told Vialva was a gypsum installer and tradesman.
The murder toll for the year now stands at 160.
