Water cannons the safer option
THE EDITOR: Out there in the First World the use of water cannons to control unruly crowd behaviour is quite common. Instead of rubber bullets the water is usually deemed the safer option.
Our police are under some heavy manners to make themselves look presentable. They are also looking at options of crowd control.
Protesters in TT, apparently empowered by the support of the trade union movement, have become overly vociferous and intimidating. It is unfortunate that either a protester or an onlooker was injured in the Moruga protest last month.
