Borough corporation employee shot dead

An employee of the Chaguanas Borough Corporation was shot dead while on a job site at Rita Street, Enterprise shortly after 7.30 am yesterday.

Zenelle Wheeler, 34, was with some CEPEP workers when he was approached by a gunman who fired several shots, hitting Wheeler.

As the gunman ran off, eyewitnesses called the Chaguanas police. The area was cordoned off and the body viewed by a district medical officer.

No motive was established for the killing, but police were able to get a description of the suspect.

The killing pushed the murder toll to 433 for the year.
