Counting the income for our oil and gas
THE EDITOR: Of course, there is something fishy about our oil and gas business. This has become noticeable as on one hand, we have experts telling us that these commodities are depleting at a rapid rate and on the other hand, we have another lot advising us to continue the search for these dwindling resources.
Guess who is paying the cost of all this research ?Yes, this nation ie the taxpayers of course.
The politicians here are either considered as mugs or are part and parcel of a plan to accept the word of these so called experts without questioning their advice. In the eyes of all of our politicians, the income from these resources is considered “easy money”, and as long as they are able to maintain the life of Riley at the expense of our apparently dumb citizens then the situation will remain as it is.
The other bad aspect to this scenario is that when it comes to controlling expenditure for research and the income from these resources our officials are lacking in the techniques and methods applied as payment for the services and output of both oil and gas, which has been going for decades.
It is now coming to light how many millions of dollars we have lost by taking advice from these experts linked to the oil and gas industries. The question is, what are our politicians going to do about it? The answer is NOTHING.
