COSTAATT, MATT host journalism workshop

The College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts (COSTAATT) in conjunction with the Media Association (MATT) is hosting a two-part workshop on entrepreneurial journalism.

In a release, MATT said the workshop is in keeping with its mission to prepare practitioners for the ever-changing media landscape in Trinidad and Tobago and around the world. The two day conference, which focuses on journalism start-ups and how to start your own journalism business, is scheduled to be held at the United States’ embassy’s conference room in Port of Spain.

On November 20, attendees will hear from Mark Lyndersay, the editor of TechNewsTT, as well as Rachele Kanigel, a professor of journalism at San Francisco State University. On November 28, attendees will hear from Lasana Liburd, chief executive officer and editor at Wired868, as well as Mark Briggs, author of Entrepreneurial Journalism: How to Build What’s Next to News. Both workshops are carded to held between 9 am to 12 noon and because of the limited space available attendees will be selected on a first come, first serve basis. More information will be provided in the upcoming days including exactly how to register, the release stated.
