Landslide at Maracas lookout

Heavy rainfall on Saturday brought more of the hillside onto the North Coast Road in the vicinity of the Maracas Lookout, rendering it temporarily impassible for the most part of this morning.

The landslide was reported at 12.25 pm and almost immediately responders began clearing the blocked roadway.

By late evening, traffic was reduced to a single lane and motorists were advised to proceed with caution or avoid the area if possible.
