Seized Assets committee set up
SEVEN members of the Seized Assets Advisory Committee were given their instruments of appointment on Wednesday by National Security Minister Stuart Young.
The Cabinet-appointed committee has a mandate to advise on the use of funds from the Seized Assets Fund. Its power is granted under Part III of the Proceeds of Crime Act Chapter 11:27.
The seized assets are to be used for community development, drug abuse treatment, rehabilitation projects and law enforcement.
The brief presentation ceremony took place at the Ministry of National Security in Port of Spain.
The seven, listed in a media release from the ministry, are:

Lionel Sampson, supervisor, Ministry of Sport and Community Development
Supt Wendell Lucas
Vyanna Sharma, head, Anti-Terrorism Unit, Ministry of the Attorney General and Legal Affairs.
