Tunapuna cops search for gunman
Police are searching for a man in Tunapuna after he dropped a pistol and ammunition on Tuesday afternoon.
Police said members of the Northern Division Task Force West (NDTFW) supervised by Sgt La Pierre and Cpl Forde were involved in an anti-crime exercise in First Trace, Maingot Road, Tunpuna, when they received a report of a man with a pistol.
Police went to the area where they saw the 28-year-old man standing in a track near a house.
When police approached the man, he pulled out the green pistol and ran away.
Police chased him and found a Glock 17 pistol and ten rounds of ammunition that he dropped during the chase.
PC Codrington of the NDTFW is continuing enquiries.
Anyone with information on the location of the man is asked to call the NDTFW at 625-9294.
