FOLLOWING the success of its first craft market in October, the Little Carib Theatre will host a "spring" edition on Saturday at White and Roberts Streets, Woodbrook.

Held in the theatre’s lobby it will host ten-12 local vendors offering both high-end and casual craft jewellery creations, accessories and other products. Among them will be Pixie Bits Crafts, Christine Wearable Art, and AWKA Jewels, which creates one-of-a-kind pieces out of vibrant fabrics.

On display as well will be local snacks and drinks such as sorrel liqueur from Cavelle’s Creations, and La Sher Catering’s Trinbago-style gourmet fudge in bold flavours like ponche de crème, passion fruit and soursop, said a media release.

For those looking for organic and all-natural skincare products handmade soaps, lotions and other specialist products will be available.

Joining the Carib pop-up market for the first time is San Fernando-based creative Neala Luna with her sepia coffee paintings – literally created using coffee in place of paint on the canvas.

The theatre’s resident yogi Kara Martin will do a mini-yoga session, so patrons can bring their yoga or exercise mats on Saturday for slow and easy exercises promoting mindful movement, breathing and meditation techniques. This session will run for 30 minutes from 1 pm.

This pop-up market series was created as part of a wider programme of community events which simultaneously celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Little Carib Theatre. To commemorate this land mark the theatre has produced newly-printed, limited-edition canvas totes which are being sold for $50.

Money raised from this venture will go to the theatre's ongoing fundraising efforts.
