Police are investigating a suspected homicide on Coco Road, Mon Repos, Morvant.

Police said officers of the Morvant district responded to a report of gunshots around 11.30 am and discovered the body of an African male with a Rasta hairstyle lying at the side of the road with gunshot wounds to the head and torso.

North Eastern Division Task Force Officers who were also on the scene took the man to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex after they saw signs of life, but he was pronounced dead on arrival by Dr Olivers at 11.58 am.

Police found three spent nine-millimetre casings at the scene.

Although the man's name is yet to be determined, inquiries revealed he worked "PH" in the Morvant Junction area. Investigators said they heard allegations that he had raped a minor, which was not reported to police. Investigators believe the killing could be tied to this incident.
