TT Equestrian Association hosts ‘Eqifun’ for Princess Elizabeth students

ON June 12, the TT Equestrian Association (TTEA) held its “Equifun” morning for the children of the Princess Elizabeth School at San Antonio Stables in Santa Cruz.

In a release, the association said the event was part of TTEA’s ongoing therapeutic programme “Equestrian Spirit,” which aims to benefit physically differently-abled children by providing them with opportunities to interact with horses and ponies.

The programme is designed to foster self-esteem, confidence, and create a positive self-image among participants. Horses have a unique ability to break through the barriers of isolation and frustration often experienced by differently-abled individuals, offering them a newfound sense of freedom and empowerment.

At the “Equifun” event, the students had the chance to demonstrate the skills they acquired through the programme by guiding their horses around a course of obstacles. The event was filled with joy and excitement, as the participants showcased their abilities and connection with the horses.

A significant highlight of the event was the enjoyment shared by all – the children, the volunteers and the organisers. The volunteers, in particular, were thrilled to witness the children’s happiness and their remarkable progress.

The TTEA said it remains committed to enriching the lives of differently-abled children through therapeutic initiatives and the success of the “Equifun” is a testament to the positive impact of the “Equestrian Spirit” programme.
