EAST, South East and Central all notched victories in their respective final Under-17 Interzone Youth Tournament preliminary round matches on March 26.

East were ruthless against their Tobago opponents as they recorded a hefty 209-run victory at Honeymoon Park in El Dorado.

Batting first, East were guided to 249/6 from 35 overs courtesy of fine knocks from Renaldo Fournillier (66), Alejandro Kassiram (64 not out) and Tyler Ramroop (39). Jayshean Baptiste (2/38) was Tobago’s best bowler.

In reply, East ran through the Tobago batting line-up and had them dismissed for a paltry 40 from 15.2 overs. Only Kiran Mohammed (11) scored double-figures while East’s Sanjiv Bachu (4/1), Ramroop (2/7) and Kassiram (1/5) finished with stellar figures with the ball.
