Christians blessed with gift of repentance

THE EDITOR: For those who resurrected our new Prime Minister's alleged sins of his youth, whether they did so with good intent or ill intent, for political or other gain, I cannot ascribe motive. What I do know is that, as Christians, we have been blessed with the gift of repentance.

I, having committed many sins from youth to adulthood, and still am a growing Christian, cherish this gift of repentance and, furthermore, our heavenly Father not only loves and forgives us, but promises in Psalm 103: "As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us."

Even now, God is changing me into a new creature in Christ, old things are passed away and all things have become new. Thank God for the cleansing blood of the lamb that is available to us all, for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

God bless you, Mr Prime Minister. May the joy of the Lord be your strength and may you, through Christ, lead our country aright.
