Couple robbed at gunpoint in Diego Martin

A 51-year-old man was repeatedly hit in the back of his head with a gun when two men attacked him and his 39-year-old wife while they were liming outside their Diego Martin home on February 8.
The victims told police that around 11.40 pm, they were outside their home when a car pulled up, blocking their Nissan Note. Two men got out, one holding a gun, and attacked the 51-year-old victim before forcing the pair to lie face down.
The men stole a Samsung A51 phone valued at $1,700, a Samsung A50 phone worth $1,800, $75 in cash, and the woman's handbag, with her $350 wallet and $1,575 in cash.
The victims went to the West End Police Station and reported the robbery at 11.50 pm. PC Johnson and PC Mendez visited the scene and are investigating.
In a separate incident, a TT Rideshare driver was robbed after picking up a passenger in St Helena.
The 26-year-old victim said around 7.20 pm, after picking up the man, his only passenger, who sat behind him, announced a robbery and pointed a gun at him.
The gunman stole the victim's $6,000 iPhone 13 and his wallet with $150, ordered him out of the car, and drove off with his $49,000 grey Suzuki Swift.
The victim described the man as African, with dark brown skin, five foot 11 inches, slim-built, wearing a red polo shirt, blue three-quarter jeans and red shoes.
The victim reported the robbery to Las Lomas police. Investigations are ongoing.
In Tobago, Shirvan Police are investigating a house break-in resulting in a $71,500 robbery.
Around 10.45 am on February 8, three women from Trinidad locking all doors and windows in a house they were vacationing in before leaving the property on Horse Shoe Ridge, Pleasant Prospect.
They returned at 5.30 pm and saw a door was open. They discovered several items missing from the bedroom, including one gold Cuban link chain valued at US$2,000, a US$8,000 watch, a pair of US$5,000 white-gold diamond earrings, and TT$1,500 in cash.
Police visited the home with crime scene investigators. Investigations are ongoing.
