A 48-year-old primary school teacher was shot and wounded in Mamoral Number One, central Trinidad, on the afternoon of December 2.

The police said the victim, Ronald Ramkissoon, was driving his blue Suzuki Vitara along Mamoral Main Road around 3 pm, heading towards the Caparo district.

Near Gran Soual Steet, he heard rapid gunshots and felt burning sensations in both his hands and neck.

The shooter or shooters were hiding in an overgrown area.

Ramkissoon managed to stop a short distance away, and someone took him to the Chaguanas Health Centre, where he was being treated for gunshot wounds.
