THREE student-athletes from the south zone basketball commission have secured full scholarships at CODE (Chasing Our Dreams Everyday) Academy in Canada.

Females Junisha Harper, Tiara Antoine, and Abrielle Bascombe left Trinidad on November 13 to take the next step in their basketball journey.

They earned the scholarships after participating in a south zone camp with coach David Jackson.

South zone commission vice-chairman Kern Jackson, who was present at Piarco airport to give the trio a send-off, said, “The achievements of Junisha, Tiara, and Abrielle are a testament to the zonal commission’s commitment to nurturing talent and providing life-changing opportunities.”

A November 14 NBFTT statement said its president Lt. Col. Jason Hills wished them success on this new chapter of their promising sporting careers.

The statement commended the zone and its players for their achievement.

“These student-athletes represent a pioneering step in the south zone commission’s mission to create global opportunities for Trinidad and Tobago's youth through basketball.”
