A 21-year-old Williamsville man was shot dead on October 2 while liming in a carpark opposite a bar in Princes Town.

Jordan Huggins was liming with another man around 8.15 pm in the carpark of a mini mart on Sisters Road, Hard Bargain when a white Nissan Versa car stopped nearby and gunshots rang out.

Huggins who was shot, fell to the ground while his liming partner ran off. After the gunmen sped off in the car, police said, Huggins was placed in the tray of a pick-up van and taken to the hospital.

Southern Division Task Force officers who were on patrol, got an all-points bulletin report of the shooting.

They were heading towards the scene when they saw the speeding pick-up with its hazard lights on, approaching them.

The officers stopped the vehicle and the driver told them he was transporting Huggins – who at the time was still alive – to the hospital.

The police quickly escorted the pick-up van to the San Fernando General Hospital (SFGH) but Huggins was pronounced dead not too long after he reached th hospital.

Investigators found ten spent nine-millimetre calibre shells and one projectile at the scene. Huggins’s body was sent to the hospital's mortuary. It will be taken to the Forensic Science Centre in St James for an autopsy. No motive has been given for the murder and no arrest was made up to press time.
