'Blindy' gunned down at Cocorite home

AVID "Blindy" Reece, 47, of Upper Cocorite Terrace was shot dead on August 21, at his home.

Police said at 8.35 pm, that day, they got information of a man with gunshot wounds near Upper Waterhole in Cocorite.

They found a large group of people around Reece's body, but he was already dead.

The crime scene investigators recovered 14 projectiles, 27 spent 9 mm shells including one spent 9 mm shell with the marking "TTPS".

Reece was employed as a foreman at the Unemployment Relief Programme (URP).

Police said his common-law wife identified his body but declined giving additional information.

On August 22, at the Forensic Science Centre, St James, Reece's family declined to speak with Newsday.

Police said investigation are ongoing.
