AS police investigators tried to solve the case of slain bank worker Crystal Giselle Peters, 37, her workplace was closed for the day on July 29.

The mother of two from Marabella worked as a premium loans officer at High Street, San Fernando.

Without mentioning Peters’ name, a July 29 Facebook post from Scotia Caribbean said: “We deeply appreciate your understanding as we support our staff during this time. The High Street, San Fernando, branch is closed today and will reopen tomorrow, July 30.”

The bank added that the ATMs remain available for customers' use.

“Remember, your day-to-day banking transactions are easy and safe when you use Scotia OnLine Banking and the Scotia Caribbean App,” the post added.

When Newsday visited the bank, the doors were closed, but staff were visible inside.

On July 27, Peters was beaten in front of her children while visiting her home, which is under construction at Reform Residential Phase II, a housing development in the Gasparillo district.

She had gone to check on the progress of the house, which she usually did on weekends.

Three masked men who wore gloves ordered the children, six and nine, into another room.

A short time later, her body, with a knife in her neck, was found on the first floor of the two-storey structure.

The killers left in a getaway car.

The grieving family described her as a quiet person who loved spending time with relatives.

They said Peters, her husband and their children were hoping to move into the house by Christmas. Peters was also looking forward to hosting a family get-together during the Christmas holidays.

Southern Division and Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region Three, police are investigating.

No one has been arrested.
