Oropouche man gunned down outside San Fernando casino

A South Oropouche man's luck ran out on the night of July 24 when he was gunned down after leaving a San Fernando casino.

Witnesses told police Ricky Loach, 58, of came out of V's Members Club around 11 pm and got into his white Toyota Axio car. At the same time a man got out of the back seat of a white Nissan Tiida that was parked nearby and shot at him.

The gunman then jumped into the driver's seat of the Tiida and drove off.

Police said they found Loach, a professional gambler from Mon Desir, South Oropouche, dead in the driver's seat.

District medical officer Dr Dhansingh pronounced him dead and ordered his body removed pending an autopsy at the Forensic Science Centre, St James.

Investigations are ongoing.
