BAIL has been denied to a 29-year-old man who appeared before a San Fernando magistrate on July 22, charged with housebreaking and larceny of over $100,000 worth of items.

Lindon Thompson, of Claxton Bay, was remanded into police custody to reappear in court on August 20.

PC Meah of the St Margaret’s Police Station laid the charge.

The court heard that Thompson has an outstanding warrant for another housebreaking and at least three pending matters for similar offences.

The latest charge alleged that he broke into a woman’s house in Claxton Bay on July 17 and stole items which included electronics such as laptops, a speaker box, tools such as a drill, jewellery, and other belongings. The items were worth a total of $100,303.

The police said around 10.30 am on July 17, the owner locked her house and went out. When she returned around 2 pm, she saw a window had been pried open.

The police said CCTV footage shows the man removing the goods.

A report was made to the St Margaret’s police and Cpl Modeste, PC Meah and WPC Ransome began investigating.

Later in the day, they went to Union Recreation Community Centre in Claxton Bay and arrested Thompson.

The police also allegedly found two stolen laptops in a bag he was carrying.
