Prison officer knocked down in Marabella

A prison officer from Gasparillo was injured in a road traffic accident at Marabella on June 29.

The officer, identified as Ricardo Murren of Harmony Hall, Gasparillo is being treated at the San Fernando General Hospital (SFGH).

A police report said around 5.30 am, the driver of a Toyota Corolla was driving along Union Road, Marabella when Murren, a pedestrian, allegedly ran across the road in front of his car.

The car hit Murren, who was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The car was also damaged.

PC Huggins and a party of officers visited the scene and tried to access CCTV footage, but were unsuccessful.

Murren could not be interviewed, as he was being treated. Police have applied for his medical records.
